Monthly Global Prayer Targets and Operation Prayer Zone Prayer Targets

Following is a compilation of the 2022 and 2023 Anti-Human Trafficking Monthly Global Prayer Targets and January and February 2023 Operation Prayer Zone Prayer Targets as provided by Nancy McDaniel, Prayer Director, Global Prayer Office, Aglow International.

 

At next month’s Jacksonville conference, The Gifts to the City organization is House of Grace, a transitional safe house for women coming out of sex trafficking in the Jacksonville area. Last year, and again this year, Aglow International intentionally connected with an outreach for Gifts to the City that helps trafficking victims in some way. It's a good way to raise awareness and to give people an opportunity to help in some way.

January 2022 - Crush Chaos and Take Mountains

Lord, bless us, enlarge us and empower us to take territory for Your Kingdom. May we always walk with your Hand of guidance and favor upon us. Crush evil as we walk in Your Presence and power and keep us from harm. May we carry Your blessing, demonstrate Your goodness and walk in Your love as we carry Your Name to subdue the works of darkness and release Your glory in the earth. Is this not the fast that I have chosen: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every yoke? – Isaiah 58:6

• Prayer breaks chains and gives favor that is supernatural. It enables rescue and puts people in the right place at the right time.
• Declare that the chaos, destruction and shame of human trafficking is crushed. Lord, let those who have been bound by human trafficking know You as their shield. Lift their heads in praise to Your glory (Psalm 3:3).
• Pray for an awakening that stirs people to action to stop the traffickers and help the victims of human trafficking.
• Within the USA: If you or someone you know is being forced to engage in any activity and cannot leave -- whether it is commercial sex, housework, farm work, construction, factory, retail, or restaurant work, or any other activity - call the National Human Trafficking Resource Center at 1-888-373-7888.
• Outside the USA: If you or someone you know is being forced to engage in any activity and cannot leave -- whether it is commercial sex, housework, farm work, construction, factory, retail, or restaurant work, or any other activity – call your local authorities or National Anti-Trafficking hotline number.

April 2022

The struggle for freedom against the system of slavery is a spiritual battle. Jesus has come to set the captives free! (Luke 4:18)

• Pray daily for the end of sex trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation in all parts of the world.
• Pray for an end to the deception and desperation that traps people labor trafficking.
• Ask Holy Spirit to show you how you can help a victim of human trafficking.

May 2022

The struggle for freedom against the system of slavery is a spiritual battle. Jesus has come to set the captives free (Luke 4:18)! It is a battle that seems overwhelming, yet, God has given His people wisdom, insight, and power to overcome this evil.

• Lord, give us a renewed passion and compassion for people who are bound in human trafficking.
• Lord, open our eyes to see those around us who need help. Show us those who are vulnerable to being trafficked. Empower us to pray for deliverance for those who are held captive.
• Ask Holy Spirit to show you how you can help a victim of human trafficking.

 June 2022 – Pray for Vulnerable Children

• Pray for the young girls and boys in your life as you drive or walk through your neighborhood.
• Pray for your schools. Pray for discernment for teachers. Let them have eyes to see and ears to hear when dangerous activity is going on. Give them wisdom in how to respond.
• Ask God for scripture to proclaim over your neighborhood – and proclaim it!
• The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. James 5:16

July 2022 - Pray for Sex Buyers

Pornography feeds illicit sexual desires.  Some of these fantasies are reenacted by purchasing sex from innocent children and women, while their sex traffickers attempt to remain at a distance but take all the money.

• Pray for the buyers who purchase sex, that they will come under deep conviction and repent and receive help for their sinful practices. Many have families. We ask You, Lord, to give these people a wake-up call from heaven and turn their hearts toward home.
• Job 31:1 - I made a covenant with my eyes not to look lustfully at a young woman.
• Pray for producers and marketers of pornography. Lord, transform adult film companies into producers of family-friendly films that promote godly values.
• Pray that God’s goodness leads these people to repentance.
• You are a God of transformation, revival, and reformation. Nothing is too hard for You!

September 2022

Many victims of human trafficking in the sex industry feel hopeless and helpless. They think sexual assault and abuse is normal. They see no future or hope and have no goals or dreams. They experience profound feelings of isolation.

• Lord, heal these precious ones. Heal their broken hearts and give them hope. We cry out to You for their restoration and freedom.
• He heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds. Psalm 147:3

October 2022

Pray that trafficked women are touched with kindness and relationship that opens the door to their freedom.

December 2022 – Watch and Pray

Christmas - It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Yet, for those trapped in human trafficking, that isn’t the case. As we celebrate the birth of Jesus and all HIS wonderful gifts this month, remember labor and sex trafficking victims in prayer.

• As winter grows colder, more homeless people will engage in ‘survival sex’ which is sex in exchange for food, clothing, or shelter. Pray for the provision of basic needs for homeless and trafficking victims. Look for opportunities to help.
• Pray that victims know the peace and goodwill of Christ.
• At this time of year when many are lonely, there are a higher number of people seeking sex for sale. Pray for the buyers, that they would find freedom and wholeness in Christ.
• Pray that the glorious Light of Jesus breaks through the darkness of human trafficking to set the captive free.

January 2023 – Watch and Pray

January is Human Trafficking Awareness month. Human trafficking is a wicked scheme against the beauty of God’s creation that is not limited by national borders. It is a global problem that can be exposed so that the sin stops and victims are rescued and healed as we watch and pray.

• Pray that the Church will be unified and viewed as a valuable and necessary resource in this battle (John 17:23).
• Pray that traffickers and buyers will find their transactions interrupted and their wicked plans frustrated (Ps. 9:16, 10:15, 146:9). Pray they will see the reality of what they are doing and seek help (Phil. 2:3–4; 1 Cor. 6:18–20).
• Pray that victims will be found and will receive the offered help despite fear, threats, and deception (Matt. 10:28; Ps. 72:12–14). Pray they will experience restored minds, bodies, and lives through Christ (Zech. 9:11–12; Rom. 12:2).
• Pray that law enforcement and rescuers will have a shield of physical and spiritual protection as they hear about and see the horrible violations done to the victims (Ps. 5:11–12).

February 2023 – Watch and Pray

Large public gatherings such as sporting events or busy shopping districts attract human traffickers to hunt for vulnerable people, especially young people, and children.

• Holy Spirit, open our eyes and give us discernment to see and help people who are vulnerable to traffickers.
• Pray for exposure of trafficking at events such as the Super Bowl football game or Mardi Gras parties.
• Pray that the Church will be unified and viewed as a valuable and necessary resource in this battle (John 17:23).
• Pray that traffickers and buyers will find their transactions interrupted and their wicked plans frustrated (Ps. 9:16, 10:15, 146:9). Pray they will see the reality of what they are doing and seek help (Phil. 2:3–4; 1 Cor. 6:18–20).

August 2023

In response to “Sound of Freedom”, a movie on child sex trafficking, Jane reminded us of these prayer points from Aglow's Anti-Human Trafficking website page.

• Pray for the Vulnerable in Your Community
• Lord, you know the hopes of the helpless. Hear their cries and comfort them. Bring justice to the orphans and the oppressed, so their captors can no longer terrify them. Ps. 10:17-18
• Pray for protection for immigrants, so that they will not be exploited. This is a common occurrence for those crossing the southern border of the United States.
• Pray for your schools. Pray for discernment for teachers as the new school year begins - let them have eyes to see and ears to hear when dangerous activity is going on and wisdom in how to respond. Paint the borders of your schools during the summer months.
• Ask God for a scripture to proclaim over your neighborhood, your children, and your grandchildren, and then be faithful to proclaim it.
• Ask God to open your eyes to sex and labor trafficking in your community and how you can get involved in practical ways. Perhaps anointing roadways and railroads and ports of entrance. He will show you.
