We collaborate with area ministries and organizations to build unity and awareness of relevant issues that impact our community’s spiritual, emotional, practical, and physical well-being. Projects include supply drives, necessary toiletries for an adult home, food distribution, and round table strategizing with local leaders to increase awareness of social issues. We need your help and your voice to make a difference!

The South Hill Aglow Community Lighthouse made a significant donation to Freedom House Ministries for their ANGEL TREE PRISON MINISTRY in preparation for their Christmas party celebration! Treena White, serves as the coordinator for this huge outpouring of God's Love and Compassion. The donation presented by the SHACL was a collaborative effort with community leaders and churches who wanted to partner with Freedom House to bless children and caregivers of incarcerated loved ones. Donations funneled through the South Hill Aglow Community Lighthouse totaled $1392 with a portion of those funds used to purchase hams for each Angel Tree family. The remaining funds were used to purchase Bibles for the Meherrin River Regional Jail as well as gifts and necessities to show God’s Love and Provision during this Christmas season!

While several individuals and ministries gave to Freedom House Ministries directly, the South Hill Aglow Community Lighthouse would like to thank the following people/churches/organizations who allowed us to gather their funds: Jody Phillips, Nancy Ferrell, Bro. Sammie and Min. Corrine Walker, Hattie Farrar, LEZEAL ENTERPRISES (Jeanette Grimes, CEO), Valerie Burke, Tina Peck, NEW LIFE MINISTRIES (Pastors Edward and Alfredia Lee), Pastor Mack Talley, SOUTHSIDE HARVEST CHURCH, Deandrea Garland, Richard and Rachel Brown, Debra Baskerville, Erick Thorne, Billy and Diane Layne, and Mary Bruce.
