<\/p>\n\tRed Dress Day, held annually on May 5th (Tuesday, May 5, 2026), is a national day of awareness, remembrance, and activism for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, (MMIW). It honors those lost and acts as a call to action to address the ongoing crisis of violence, often marked by hanging red dresses.
\nIndigenous women, world-wide, have a higher rate of missing and being murdered. Red Dress Day is observed internationally, but mainly in Canada. Many believe they are taken into human trafficking. We can help to spread awareness and pray for this.
\nLet’s wear a red dress, scarf, or ribbon to our lighthouse meetings. We can mention this and lead a prayer about it. Take pictures of your team wearing red and send it to Mary Jo at\u00a0 SWRegionaglow@gmail.com and I will forward to Aglow International, with an explanation. It may be posted on the Aglow website.
